Every year, the students at Sedes Sapientiae School prepare and perform a classic play. This year's selection was the Greek tragedy Antigone by Sophocles, which our students performed superbly on April 22. This timeless play relates the virtue and piety of Antigone as she stands fast against the unjust laws of King Creon, the father of her beloved Haemon. What is justice? What are the rights and duties of a king or any government? These are the questions to ponder as Creon's obstinate adherence to his unjust law, against the advice of relatives and counselors, leads him to lose those closest to him.
